My 'Best of 2015' - Pictures Explained

I saw these going around Instagram for the last few days and finally decided to get one for myself. It wasn't anywhere near as easy as I thought it would be. I thought it would just have a link on the Amazon app but no.

I did a quick Google search to find the website and so if you too want to find your 9 most 'liked' and popular photos of 2015 on Instagram just click or visit There it is pretty easy to follow and they have the instructions clear to follow. I found it a little odd you could type in any Instagram username, not just your own, but if you have friends or favourite celebrities you could look up their's too! On the main page, you can also see the top 10 celebrity pictures.

Here is the page with the instructions

So here's mine:

  1. So the first photo is me lounging on the sofa in, what was, my brand new Trixin Clothing dress. I did a haul post of the other items I got from Trixin Clothing which you can view if you want. It also includes a little review on the quality. I've literally worn all the items so many times and since then, I've been desperate to get some new purchases but the customs charge totally puts me off.
  2. This photo was my first YouTube Meet and Greet! I was out and about in London at a Tanya Burr (another YouTuber) book signing at Waterstones so when Niomi Smart announced she was going to be taking photos at Bare Minerals, I decided to go along. I love Bare Minerals and it's the only make up I've ever worn so to get some freebies, as well as have the crazy YouTube experience was cool.
  3. I think the simple use of the #YouTube seriously gets you places. I made a video for everyday I was in Egypt over the summer. I'm not saying that they are brilliant because they certainly aren't. I quickly put together seven videos in a day and I just like them for the memories. If you do want to see them, I made a playlist here
  4. My second YouTube Meet and Greet was a much better experience. It was with the amazing Anna and Jonathan Saccone-Joly and I loved it. They were so kind and patient and gave the biggest hugs. Plus they raised money for a good cause. It was perfect!
  5. Again another YouTube-related picture was with Tanya Burr's Glamour magazine. It was a nice read but I was so excited I got it because everyone had been so hyped about it and I was interested to see not only the supposedly sexy pictures but to read the article in depth.
  6. Ahh...this picture was a celebrity related photo as well, which I don't ever post, but I've been hating all the red carpet looks so much recently so when I saw these two and liked not only the hair, make up, shoes...but the dress too(!) I had to share. All the dresses this year have been very risqué and I personally, just don't see the need. I think women look gorgeous and even more beautiful with just that little more covered up. It doesn't need to be floor length and neck high, but leave something to the imagination!
  7. How could I forget one of the longest days of my life. A trip of a lifetime to Cairo on our Egypt trip to Sharm el Sheikh was incredible. To witness all the pyramids up close was incredible. I would just like to say that my heart goes out to all the tourists that went to the exact same places as I did and got shot at. I am so lucky that I went when I did, because just a few months later, Britons lives were lost.
  8. I think this is probably one of my personal favourite pictures. Not necessarily because of the memory but because seriously, could this firework picture get any better. I was so amazed at the quality of my photo taking skills that I could almost cry, even now! This photo is of when I went to Victoria Park the weekend following Bonfire Night to see the fireworks. The show was spectacular. I even managed to record some clips which you can see here and here. It was amazing because all the fireworks were timed to go off with the music beat.
  9. My final picture is also one of my most recent happy memories. The photo is a little blurry because this is actually a still from a video (click to see the full version on YouTube). I had an incredible experience at the Jingle Bell Ball.
And that's it! I guess it was actually quite nice to refresh my memory of some of the experiences I've had over the past year. Even though I may not pick these ones as my particularly happiest or memorable or main activities this year, it certainly opens my eyes to aspects of my life.

What I do find funny is that most of them are based off YouTube! It just shows you how popular it is becoming!

Speak next year! Love always, Hannah x

Homemade Advent Calendar!

I ended up leaving my advent calendar at home because...well just because I'm stupid but I love counting down till Christmas so I asked my mum to write me a riddle and hide a chocolate every day. In my mind, I thought she would write like a rhyming one but she made them a little too easier. I'm still proud she did it though!

Day 1:
You will find door number twenty, in the cabinet where food is kept warm for a Christmas feast
Heater trolley!

Day 2:
Morning, find me in the lounge, the only clue is, it's in the house.
It was behind a card with a picture of a little house on.
Day 3:
Your chocolate for free, it is beside the tree Find the star and you will find me.

We have so many Christmas tree's it was hard to narrow down, but in the kitchen it was wrapped around the decorative sparkly silver tree star.

Day 4:
If you find Rudolf you will find me
It was on our cute little reindeer's tail in the lounge.

Day 5:
In the dog house I will be between, 2 snowmen cozy so can be.
It was in the dogs side of the conservatory just above the mirror in between some snowmen mum bought from a charity.

Christmas Presents for the Family!

For my sister, Jessica, these cute DIY candles. I made a quick post on how to make them here :)

I also got a last minute gift bag from Lush for her, called Buttercup. It was cheap, sweet and cheerful in her favourite colour of yellow.
'Make someone's day with this beautiful duo of sweet goodies. We've brought together two of our biggest sellers to soothe and soften: our gorgeous cocoa butter Butterball bath bomb, and a slice of Honey I Washed The Kids soap. Just the thing to leave you smelling good enough to eat.'

For my 'Old Guy' aka dad some gardening tools for his biggest passion in life.
For my niece, Hallie, a colouring book and some jigsaws. I have some clothes on order but as I'm not seeing her for another month I didn't see any point in rushing to be honest.
For my mum, this beautiful wreath. Also from Winter Wonderland and I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, it did get a little mis-shappened on the train home :(
She also seemed pretty annoyed that I gave her is early so I decided to add a few little extras to quickly wrap for her to open. A new apron to where over the Christmas season and a few new tea towels because all of ours are so old and tattered it's ridiculous.

For my sister, Victoria, some oven gloves and salad 'hands'. I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped them but they look like this.

Finally, my favourite Christmas wrapping paper from Carr Gate :)

Blog Update

So after the events of this year I've decided that I'm going to make my current blog permanently private. I'm going to use that blog for the original purpose as a diary entry for myself. It will still be available for others to read but only if I add them by email addresses. If you want to have access to my daily life updates, feel free to message me your emails on any of my social media accounts underneath the 'Stay Connected' button on the side.

I have now transferred all my non-diary related posts to the blog I had first, this one! This blog is called hansla1000, and as I never deleted it, it has my very first posts on! Posts will included those such as Hauls, Reviews, Recipes, TAGs, Medic Related and Special Occasions. Feel free to let me know if you would like any of the other posts to be featured on this public blog.

Even though I have transferred the posts, the links within the posts are still linked back to the original posts so unfortunately I haven't edited these just yet. I didn't realise how many posts I had written on Hauls! It took a lot longer than I had ever expected but I will hopefully have these removed and changed soon.

Happy reading! :)

Christmas Presents 2015 Haul!

So I ended up getting way more than I thought and I actually liked most of them! I got a lot of money from friends and family and then gifts from my mum, dad and sis
A cute dressing gown. It's so soft and feels so nice against my face. I already have one very similar but it's apparently 10 years old, completely lost it's colour but I'll still use it; it will mean I won't have to pack it when I come and visit because I can leave one at uni and one at home.
I have one evening bag which is a silver, gorgeous clutch but unfortunately it's magnetic and so it's ripped the fabric. This cute black mesh clutch will go with almost everything.
I love baking but I've never backed cookies, at least not by myself! This is so cute, especially with the little cookie cutter.

I always love a bit of pampering and so a mask is perfect!
Oh actually, I lied, this was a gift from my godmother and her family. I don't really wear mascara so I'm always looking for new ones to fall in love with.
Oh and this mum's boyfriend's sister-in-law got me this present. Just some cute Jack Wills lip balms.
You may have seen my boot haul from a month ago but I still haven't found a pair of flat brown boots I like. Mine have currently been so worn they basically have no sole left at all.
 This cute bar of soap.
The ever needed apple slicer; cut up an apple with one easy push!
I actually really like Clinique products and these lip glosses look beautiful.
Some new slippers because mine are mouldy :/
 Some soft socks.
A collection of CD's I asked for. I love these!
This is a beautifully packaged bath and body collection. Not sure if I'll ever use it but it's stunning!
Aunty Susanna told my mum that colouring is relaxing, I completely disagree, but either way here is my 'adult colouring book'.
How cute is this woollen knitted hot water bottle and matching eye mask?!
Jess got me a scarf with matching gloves.

And then of course there is all the chocolate: from simple, to fancy, to selection boxes to 16 large packets of minstrels! I swear my family want me to stay FAT!

I also got 2 dresses. I which I wore on Christmas Day so see tonight's post and the second was a loose jump suit but I don't particularly like it.

That's it! I hope you enjoyed this little haul, speak to you tonight.

Family Christmas Tag!

For an extra special, early Christmas morning treat, I thought it would be fun to do this tag :)

So originally this tag was made by Zoe Sugg, of Zoella on YouTube. She made it as a friends tag but I think I'm going to keep mine who comes to the traditional Christmas day. Maybe next year I will do a Friends Tag :)

Who would bring the best dessert?
Aunty Susie - he chocolate cake is to die for!

Who would carve the turkey?
Uncle Jonathan - because he's the man of the family.

Who would take the best photos?
Me - I'm literally the only one in the family who takes photo's.

Who would look the most glam?
Eleanor - if she tries, she looks stunning; Ellie goes from trackies to ballgown.

Who would have the tackiest Christmas jumper?
Aunty Susie - have you seen the clothes she wears sometimes, once she came out in a crop top :|

Who would make the worst Christmas jokes?
Stuart - he's so not funny, in my sense of all.

Who would fall asleep first?
Emma - because she usually is!

Who would be the last one dancing?
Mum - she's always singing and dancing.

Who would bring the worst gift?
Stuart - he doesn't do presents, he just expects everyone else to bring them for him.

Who would be in charge of Christmas music?
Me - I have spotify and the speakers so I tend to set up a playlist.

Who would be in charge of Christmas dinner?
Mum - always, always, always. Although, Emma says she's going to help a little this year so we shall see ;)

Who would make the best snowman?
Emma - I feel like growing up in the early years, I had snow every Christmas, but haven't had them for a while and as far as I know have never made a snowman. Emma had more snow for more years so I feel like she would have more practice. The oldies, wouldn't be bothered.

Who would win at all the games?
Grandma - she's so clever and on it, she would easily win the intelectual dresses but not so much the TV/movies.

Who is most likely to knock over the Christmas tree?
Jessica - 100% she's known for being clumsy; as a kid she would knock down a glass every meal and break something at least once a day.

Who would be the best Santa impersonator?
We've never really done Santa impersonators and I can't really think of anybody filling the role right now but in the future I think Deleep, Emma's boyfriend would be really good at it. I can't see Emma going to his parents house so I think he would come here and could easily be Santa.

Christmas Shopping Haul!

I have so many posts I want to get up so I decided I would just double up for the next few days :L

I bought 2 identical jumpers from Dorothy Perkins which have buttons on the shoulder, but in different colours: olive and black. I think they're super cute and long so they cover the tops of my thighs. They also have a slit at the bottom which just adds a little extra style. The comfy, lightweight material is the perfect jumper for me because I get hot so easily!

I also bought a dress from Dorothy Perkins. They call it the Voulez Vouz Pewter Mesh Swing Dress. I liked it when I saw it for a swinging 1920s party but I'm not sure I LOVE it.

I've almost run out my toner so I left it at university and finally got a version to leave at home. If you read my night time routine it's the same stuff: Lush's Eau Roma Water.
